Regulating growth is too big a task to be economically viable. As you said once it becomes legal, value drops. Therefore the government wont tax it because with worth it, so cannabis stays banned
And the federal and state governments are economically regulating growth as we speak?

Edited by: Slade Trillgon on 04/02/2009 14:02:02 If you want to know the contructionist's view on the history of the regulation of "illicit" drugs you need to pick up the following book.
Drugs in American Society by Erich Goode. I had the honor of taking a gradute level Sociology class by this man. It was great to take a class from such a controversial individual.
Drugs in American Society, 5th, 6th, and 7th editions, Erich Goode, McGraw-Hill, 1999/2005/2008. Outline of Chapter 4 with external links.
As found in the above link, this is one of the primary reasons ********* is illegal.
I hate to derail but this is integral to the topic at hand. If one really looks close at the numbers one will see that the largest increase in use of illicit drugs occured after the primary laws were instituted. This can be attributed to a few things. The rise in population, the increase in numbers associted due to prosecution, bad economic times, and a few others. The problem is that before illicit drugs laws drug use was not stigmatized and since it was not criminilzed one did not have to become a criminal to attain their chosen sedative.

Be carefull, that toking stoner may be more dangerous then you percieve.

********* is not a narcotic
Second the addiction to THC is no wear near as potent as many other addictions, for example food, which kills an exponentially larger amount of people then weed ever has.
The numbers put out plainly here
The following is a link to the actual article link published by the Journal of the American Medical Association
